Trading and brokers
Connecting a broker, live accounts, confirmations and placing orders.
TMR Terminal sends orders to your broker only when you tell it to. Read the Terms of Use and the Risk Disclosure before trading a live account.
Connecting a broker
Open the account menu (bottom left), choose Accounts, then Connect a broker. Depending on the broker you sign in on the broker's own page, paste an API key, or use an app you registered with the broker yourself. Supported brokers include crypto exchanges, forex and CFD platforms, U.S. brokers, prop-firm platforms and Indian brokers; the list in the app shows which are available now.
- Give an API key only the permissions trading needs. Never give withdrawal permission.
- Access the terminal keeps is encrypted, used only for your account, and deleted when you click Disconnect. Passwords, PINs and one-time codes used only to sign in are not kept.
- Disconnecting does not close positions or cancel orders at the broker.
Live accounts
- A connected live account is off for orders until you switch on Live orders and type LIVE to confirm.
- Set the Largest live order for each live account. An order bigger than that is refused, and an order whose size cannot be priced is refused too. Closing a position is always allowed.
- Choose which account a chart trades in the account menu before you place an order. Check the account name on the order ticket every time.
Confirmations and one-click trading
- Confirm orders can be set to Never, Live accounts only, or Always. The default is Never: one click sends the order, on live accounts too. If you would rather be asked, change it in Settings.
- One-click trading turns the bid and ask boxes on a chart into instant market orders. It is off by default and is never available on a live account.
Placing orders
Trade from the order ticket, the DOM, the chart (right-click a price, or drag order lines), or the account panel. Attach a stop and a target to protect a position; once accepted they rest at your broker, whether or not the terminal is running. Drag a resting order on the chart to move it.
The broker's own records are the final word on your orders and positions. If anything looks wrong, or the terminal is unavailable, use your broker's own platform.
Indian brokers
Orders to an Indian broker go through the broker's official interface with your own sign-in, and are subject to the broker's and the exchange's checks and order-rate limits. Most Indian brokers require you to sign in again each trading day. The terminal sends orders only when you give them; it does not run automated strategies at your broker. Residents of India should read section 5 of the Terms of Use, including the rules on forex and CFDs.
Prop firms
Prop firms have their own rules about platforms, automation and copying. Check that your firm allows TMR Terminal before trading an evaluation or funded account.
