Pine scripts and the library
Writing scripts, strategy backtests, and publishing to the library.
Writing scripts
The Pine editor lets you write indicators and strategies in a Pine Script-style language. TMR Terminal runs its own independent implementation of the language, so most scripts work as written, but not every built-in is supported. The editor shows errors as you type.
Your personal scripts are stored on your PC.
Strategies are backtests
A strategy() script runs over the chart's history and reports its simulated trades. It never sends orders to a broker. Simulated results have real limitations; see the Risk Disclosure.
The script library
Open the Library to find scripts other traders have published, and to publish your own.
- Public: anyone with the terminal can find and use it.
- Invite-only: only the people you give access to, for as long as you choose.
- Private: only you.
You can hide a script's source when you publish. Others then cannot read it in the editor, but it still runs on their computers, so do not rely on hidden source to keep something secret.
Scripts in the library are made by other users. We do not check or endorse them, and none of them is advice. Before you publish, read the Acceptable Use and Script Library Policy.
